Natasha Renee Smith will complete a Playwriting MFA at Ohio University in 2018. She has interned and apprenticed with Horizon Theatre, the Alliance Theatre, and Arizona Theatre Company. Vessel and Remind Me Why We’re Doing This have been featured in the Seabury Quinn, Jr. Playwright’s Festival. Catapult received a reading at Arizona Theatre Company. “Tried,” a ten-minute play, was a KCACTF Region 2 semi-finalist. “The Party,” a monologue, appears in My Mother#!^!#! College Life (Dramatic Publishing). In Her Place—winner of the Denis Johnston Playwriting Award—was produced at Amherst College, where she studied playwriting with Constance Congdon. She is a three-time recipient of the Roland Wood Fellowship and has also taught fiction writing in Kenya. She writes about unsettling facets of love and family, illuminating the deceptive beauty of human flaws.
